Documentation
AddisFix is a civic-tech platform designed to make it easier for people in Addis Ababa to report local problems, track their progress, and help communities respond to issues together.
Citizens can submit reports with photos, descriptions, categories, severity, and location. Multiple reports about the same real-world problem can be connected into a single incident, reducing duplication and creating a clearer picture of what is happening.
The platform includes an interactive map, incident tracking, community confirmation through “I see this too,” incident following and notifications, and dashboards for citizen, authority-workflow, and administrative use.
AddisFix also includes AI-assisted image analysis to help identify and categorize problems from submitted photos. AI is used as an assistive tool rather than as an official authority decision-maker.
The platform is built as a full-stack application with secure authentication, role-based access control, persistent database storage, image storage, API validation, audit logging, and responsive web interfaces.
The authority workflow is currently a prototype designed for future institutional integration. AddisFix does not claim an existing partnership or direct integration with Addis Ababa government institutions.
Core technologies: React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Python, FastAPI, MongoDB, OpenStreetMap, Leaflet, JWT authentication, object storage, and AI-assisted image analysis.
